Wood Brothers Gaming Welcomes Spin to eNASCAR PEAK Antifreeze iRacing Series
May 23rd, 2019 by Chris Leone
Wood Brothers Gaming, the official eSports team of Wood Brothers Racing, will welcome Spin as its new primary sponsor for the eNASCAR PEAK Antifreeze iRacing Series. Driven by Ray Alfalla and Chris Overland, the #21 and #16 Fords will carry the orange, white, and black Spin colors for the remainder of the 2019 season.
“Ford’s acquisition of Spin has opened up additional opportunities for us to engage with new audiences in fresh and exciting ways,” said Euwyn Poon, President and co-Founder of Spin. “As we focus on expanding our offerings to different communities across the country, we are pleased to partner with the Wood Brothers, the oldest racing team in NASCAR, to celebrate one of America’s favorite sports on a global digital platform.”
“I couldn’t think of a more fitting partner than Spin for our first season in eNASCAR,” added Jon Wood, team co-owner and director of business development for Wood Brothers Racing. “The way people are consuming entertainment is changing, and, with that, the conventional ways of marketing are changing, as well. Spin is ahead of the curve, and by being involved in this new venture, they’re able to reach consumers beyond the scope of traditional sports advertising.”
Alfalla is the most legendary driver in the history of the eNASCAR PEAK Antifreeze iRacing Series. The four-time and defending series champion, he was the first-ever draft pick in the series’ inaugural Driver Draft this winter in advance of the 2019 season. Alfalla has won 24 career races, including at least one in each of the last nine seasons, and has never finished worse than eighth in series points. Overland was the team’s second round draft pick and kicked off the season with a pole-winning run at Daytona International Speedway.
The 2019 eNASCAR PEAK Antifreeze iRacing Series season resumes at Sonoma Raceway on June 11, where Ford Mustangs will take part in the series for the first time. Be sure to tune in to the iRacing eSports Network on Facebook, Twitch, and YouTube at 9PM ET to watch the action!
