December 16th, 2024 by Justin Melillo
Welcome back to This Week in iRacing, our weekly post that details all you need to know about what is going on in the world of iRacing!
As always, This Week includes topics ranging from official eSports to some of the top community-driven events, and everything in between.
Welcome to Week 1 of the first season of 2025! Here’s what to expect from 2025 Season 1, Week 1, from December 17th to December 23th, 2024.
For the Members: iRacing Official Series Highlights
Every week, iRacing offers daily, even hourly racing that members can get into, based on where their license level is at. There are also some special series that run at specific times that anyone can jump into, with the right credentials, that offer a more meaningful sim racing experience.
Here are a few of the highlighted series taking place this week.
WINTER NASCAR iRACING SERIES
Since there’s no NASCAR iRacing Series until the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season begins, the offseason makes room for the Winter NASCAR iRacing Series (WNiS), a similarly-structured fixed and open setup series which will utilize the 1987 NASCAR Cup Series cars. Week 6 will feature the 1987 cars at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The races this week are scheduled for:
Fixed Schedule: Wednesday, 21:00 GMT; Friday, 02:00 GMT; Saturday, 10:00 and 17:00 GMT; Monday, 02:00 GMT
Open Schedule: Thursday, 02:00 and 19:00 GMT; Saturday, 02:00 GMT; Sunday, 15:00 GMT

RICMOTECH RING MEISTER / DRAFT MASTER CHALLENGE BY SIMAGIC COMBINATIONS
Two of the more unique daily racing series on iRacing are the Ring Meister Ricmotech Series and the Draft Master Challenge by SIMAGIC Series, where the cars change every week as opposed to the tracks. The setups are fixed in both series, which means it’s all about jumping in and racing the combination at hand.
The Ring Meister Ricmotech Series (races on every odd 2 hours | qualifying every even 2 hours at :30) takes place at the Nürburgring Nordschleife – Industriefahrten and cycles through mostly road-type racing vehicles every week. As for Draft Master Challenge by SIMAGIC (races every hour on the hour), the series contests six weeks at Talladega Superspeedway and six weeks at Daytona International Speedway, featuring many common NASCAR-oval style cars.
Week 1 Schedule:
- Ring Meister: TCR cars at Nürburgring Nordschleife – Industriefahrten
- Draft Master: 1987 NASCAR Cup cars at Talladega Superspeedway
RAIN MASTER
For wet weather racing enthusiasts, Rain Master is one of the latest Special Series available on iRacing. Introduced in 2024 Season 4, those looking for some fixed setup wet weather racing can now jump into select GT3 vehicles, including the BMW M4, Lamborghini Huracán EVO, Mercedes-AMG, Porsche 911, Ferrari 296, Audi R8 LMS EVO II, Chevrolet Corvette Z06, and Ford Mustang, at 12 different road courses around the world. 2025 Season 1 introduces the Acura NSX GT3 EVO to the fold.
The forecasts will include light rain throughout the short, 15 minute events. Races run every hour at 15 minutes past the hour.
Week 1 Schedule:

Coming Soon: Dirt Oval fans have two new year-long series to look forward to in 2025—Dirt Super Late Model Tour – Fixed and Dirt 410 Sprint Car Tour – Fixed! Starting in February, these tours will transition to year-long special series, similar to the NASCAR iRacing Series (NiS), running from February through November.
Official iRacing eSports
There’s only one eSports event left on the 2024 calendar, with the World of Outlaws Pro Series. World of Outlaws will continue into the 2025 calendar with their final four races in January.
Both the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series and Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup will be back early on in 2025.
