I’m living a motorsports fan’s dream:  Watching a race at Spa-Francorchamps from the window of my room at Auberge de la Source, the picturesque country inn overlooking the La Source hairpin which, of course, takes its name from the adjacent establishment. The amazing thing is that I’m actually nearly 4,000 miles west of Francorchamps, Belgium, in the office of Greg Hill, iRacing.com vice President of art and production.  Greg is giving me a preview of the latest addition to the online racing service’s catalogue of virtual race tracks, legendary Circuit Spa-Francorchamps, set for release to iRacing’s membership on December 21

New Features Make World’s Leading Online Racing Service Easier and More Fun For the more than 20,000 race gamers and other racing enthusiast members of iRacing.com, the online racing experience just keeps getting better.  The latest quarterly update to the iRacing.com service, released earlier this week, introduces new and enhanced features that will make the racing more fun, more convenient, and more realistic than ever. “One of the great things about iRacing’s internet-based model is that it allows us to regularly add new features and content and tweak existing ones seamlessly, without inconvenience to our members,” said Tony Gardner, iRacing.com’s president.  “When a member logs on, his or her software is automatically updated.” Gardner noted that while minor changes are made frequently, larger enhancements are normally implemented about every 90 days. “When we opened our doors to the public two years ago, iRacing.com was already the most accurate racing simulation available to the public, and provided the best racing experience ever,” Gardner said.  “But we told those first subscribers that this was just the beginning, that we’d make the service better and better.  We’ve lived up to that promise.

Circuit Park Zandvoort Now Available to iRacing Members

NASCAR and iRacing to Partner in Online Racing Series

NASCAR and iRacing.com Motorsport Simulations announced today that the two organizations are joining forces to create a NASCAR-sanctioned online racing series, a new competition division that will be licensed by NASCAR and organized and hosted by iRacing. Beginning early in 2010, NASCAR fans anywhere in the world will be able to log onto the internet and compete against one another, as well as a number of NASCAR drivers, in an official NASCAR series featuring digital duplicates of real-world NASCAR cars and tracks in the most realistic NASCAR racing environment ever created. “The online world is an ever growing marketplace filled with NASCAR fans.
