Steven Wilson and winning have gone hand in hand over the last couple of months. Back in September, Wilson hoisted the Dale Earnhardt Jr Championship Trophy at the NASCAR Hall of Fame after winning the 2023 eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series championship. Now, he’s back in victory lane in the eNASCAR College iRacing Series powered by NACE Starleague, winning confidently at Dover Motor Speedway on Tuesday night.

The University of Iowa student came from the ninth spot on the grid to win. Wilson passed and held off the likes of fellow 2023 eNASCAR Championship 4 driver Garrett Lowe (UNC at Charlotte), previous eNASCAR College winner Austin Farr (Liberty University), and polesitter and defending College Series champion Logan Clampitt (Cal State Fullerton).

Once again, the eNASCAR College iRacing Series event shared the airwaves with the eNASCAR Contender iRacing Series. Daytona winner Daniel Faulkingham (University of Maine at Machias) and more took part in the Contender event happening at Richmond Raceway at the same time.

Clampitt led at the green, but after a pair of early cautions that collected multiple drivers, Hopkinsville CC’s Nate Stewart was in control after Clampitt opted to stay out during the first caution at Lap 16 and pit on the second at Lap 23. Stewart led for 21 laps before Wilson took over on Lap 42.

Wilson was in control through the remainder of the race, but Lowe, Clampitt, and Manchester CC’s Jose Solis Jr were on his tail. Stewart, meanwhile, started dropping back once he lost the top spot, and while battling with Milwaukee Area TC’s Oumar Diallo inside the top five, the two connected and collided into the barrier, the reason for the third and final caution of the day on Lap 55. Stewart’s promising day wound up as a 30th place result, while Diallo had too much damage, retiring to finish in 35th.

While Wilson pulled away up front, Solis Jr vaulted to second around both Lowe and Clampitt. Palm Beach State’s Tyler Garey rounded out the top five. The fourth place finish by Clampitt places him back atop of the 2023-24 standings, as the former leader, Farr, faltered to finish in 15th. Lowe and Farr sit tied for second at 92 points, ahead of Matthew L Morton (Ohio State Newark) and Solis, who round out the top five. There will be drop weeks to factor in to decide the final Regular Season standings. Six races remain on the academic calendar, with the next race scheduled for the end of this month at Watkins Glen International.

Qualifying will run from November 11 through November 21, and the main event is scheduled for Tuesday, November 28. As always, the stream will go live at 8 p.m. ET on eNASCAR.com/live and across iRacing social media channels.

The eNASCAR College iRacing Series Powered by NACE Starleague is supported by Coca-Cola, Logitech G, and DBOX. About the Series: The eNASCAR College iRacing Series gives college students from the United States and Canada the opportunity to compete for their share of $60,000 in scholarships. Using machines from the NASCAR Xfinity Series or NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, 40 drivers qualify for the event by registering here and posting their fastest lap times in a two-week Time Attack through the iRacing UI. With hundreds of colleges and universities represented in each Time Attack and only one representative per school, drivers are competing not only against the greater iRacing community, but also their own classmates, for a spot on the prestigious grid.
