If not for a faulty internet connection at Las Vegas, Spire Motorsports’ Steven Wilson might be 4-for-4 after Tuesday night’s eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series event at Richmond Raceway.

The Action Track delivered a third victory on the 2025 season to the 2023 series champion, previously having won at Daytona and Interlagos, and marks Wilson’s 12-career victory at the top level. Wilson didn’t dominate, but he was there the entire night, and made the moves to the front before the late cautions set everything up for two rounds of eNASCAR Overtime, both final restarts flawless from the Iowa Hawkeye.

“I guess we’re just dominating so far,” a clean-shaven Wilson stated post-race. “It’s a lot of fun when you’re winning and fast. We had a long green flag run here, which I did not expect, and a lot of passing. I was able to pass Vicente (Salas) and (Zack) Novak there in that long run, which was cool. We moved into all sorts of different lanes, which is when iRacing is at its best. It’s just so much fun.

“We had the late yellow that leads to a bunch of junk. The Heat race was interesting, I made the move three-wide, and then Jordy (Lopez) got a black flag for going too early on the start there. I was racing Novak for the lead, I couldn’t get it, but once that top came in, I just moved up and I had so much grip… It’s awesome to be three-for-four, but hopefully we keep going.”

The night featured two Heat races and the 70-lap Feature won by Wilson. Zack Novak (Channel199 Sim Racing) led the most laps after winning his Heat, but wound up second after losing the lead late in the long green run. Richmond saw five cautions for 20 laps, a race extended by 10 extra laps from the double dose of eNASCAR Overtime.

THE EVENT

Qualifying set the order for both Heat races, the odd-numbered qualifiers starting the opening Heat and the even-numbered taking on Heat 2. Jordy Lopez (BS+COMPETITION) took the pole position while Vicente Salas (Kanaan Esports) qualified in second.

In Heat 1, Lopez led the field to the green, but incurred a penalty on the start, dashing his chances early on. This gifted the lead to Zack Novak, who was able to pull out a large lead over Steven Wilson and Bobby Zalenski (ERA eSports). While the battle ensued for second, Novak continued to grow that lead. With Heat races only set at 25 laps, Novak’s lead became insurmountable, and he was able to collect the win, earn the pole position for the Feature, and collect 10 points towards the championship.

The second Heat was more straightforward, as Salas was able to clear Tucker Minter (William Byron eSports) fairly quickly, leading the entire way enroute to the victory. The top-10 in each heat all scored points, notable finishers including Parker White (Atlassian Williams Sim Racing) in eighth in Heat 1, and Casey Kirwan (Kansas City Pioneers) in eighth in Heat 2, both pocketing three points apiece.

The green flag was barely out when the first caution of the night flew in the 70-lap Feature. Taylor Hurst (Team Dillon Esports) spun the tires from the eighth starting spot, dealing damage to multiple drivers before the start-finish line.

As a result, the series’ single-file restart clause was immediately put in place, but it didn’t deter a second caution flying before the field made it to the backstretch on Lap 5. Garrett Lowe (BS+COMPETITION) and Jimmy Mullis (Kevin Harvick Inc.) fought for the same real estate entering Turn 1, resulting in the latter’s half-spin in Turn 2.

Once the field got going, it was early smooth sailing for Novak. From the opening lap to Lap 54, Novak was in control, looking for his first win in the series since his championship run in 2019.

Wilson, however, had the perfect amount of laps to get the most out of the tires, and on Lap 55, made his move and made it stick for the lead on Novak.

It was looking like smooth sailing for Wilson, but a third caution flew with just under 10 laps to go for an incident involving Logan Clampitt (eRacr) and Nate Stewart (Jim Beaver eSports). As the pits opened, the entire field opted to pit except for two drivers—Blake McCandless (JR Motorsports) and Timothy Holmes (RFK Racing). Wilson would line up in third for the restart, taking two tires along with the majority of the front runners.

Before the field exited Turn 2, McCandless and Holmes were already swallowed by the pack. Wilson led over Novak and Zalenski, but a caution involving Holmes in a four-wide situation set the field up for a bout of eNASCAR Overtime.

The first attempt ended nearly as soon as it started, with Kirwan, Lowe, and more going around in Turn 3. Wilson had a perfect start, subjecting Novak to the clutches of Zalenski, but that set the stage for one more eNASCAR Overtime attempt for the field. This time, they held it together. Another perfect start from Wilson allowed for Novak to get back into second while Zalenski instead fell into the clutches of the field, ultimately going around on the final lap. After the virtual dust settled, it was Wilson victorious once more.

Parker White extended his Top-5 streak to eight-straight race finishes, finishing third after a rough start to the night that included some right side door damage. White’s teammate, Donovan Strauss in the newly-numbered #4, also collected a top-five in finishing fifth. It wasn’t enough to hold on to the Team Championship lead, with Wilson and Femi Olatunbosun taking back the top spot by six points together at Spire Motorsports.

White maintains the Segment 1 lead by three points over Novak exiting Richmond. Rockingham marks the final race of the Segment, with five potential Playoff Points on the line. Wilson also has a decent chance, despite the unplanned drop week at Las Vegas, only five points out entering The Rock. In the Rookie battle, Blaze Crawford (Team Dillon Esports) collected a second-career top-10 finish, and moves ahead of Connor Yeroschak (LETARTE eSports) and Quentin Warman (HYAK Motorsports) by 16 and 17 points, respectively.

In two weeks, the top-level oval stock car sim racers will return for a 200-lap battle at Rockingham Speedway. The Rock was featured in an eNASCAR All-Star event back in 2019, a race won by Zack Novak. It joins the schedule for the first time as a points-paying race in 2025.

The fifth round on the calendar is scheduled for Tuesday, April 8th. Tune in at 7:30 p.m. ET for the Countdown to Green. Race coverage begins at 8 p.m. ET at eNASCAR.com/live and across iRacing social media channels.
