Opening in 1961, Portland International Raceway has become the Pacific Northwest’s premier racing venue. The track has boasted many of America’s top road racing series, from the classic years of the SCCA Trans-Am Series to CART from 1984 to 2007. It currently features events for the IndyCar Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, ARCA Menards Series, and the Trans-Am West Coast Championship.
Portland’s Grand Prix layout clocks in at 12 turns and just under two miles. The track’s long front straightaway is broken up by the Shelton Chicane, initiated by a hard right-hand turn that can cause chaos with unprepared drivers at the start of a race. The mixed-surface layout, featuring a split of asphalt and concrete, can see drivers in top-level classes turn laps of under a minute.
ART UPDATE
The Track Art Team has completed multiple full art overhauls of SEVEN classic NASCAR tracks including: Bristol Motor Speedway, Darlington Raceway, Dover Motor Speedway, Homestead-Miami Speedway, Iowa Speedway, Kansas Speedway, and Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
We are excited to launch the Official Series Redesign, which transforms the way you can browse, learn about, and join Official Series within iRacing – the new full-page layout provides more space and more info than ever before.
Our graphics and physics developers have tag-teamed an outstanding upgrade to the debris system which now includes mud and gravel, and all debris types are now easier to see and impact racing much more realistically.
Adaptive AI is an all new system that provides each iRacer an AI Racing experience that’s tuned to their individual preferences and desired level of challenge.
A new Connectivity Black Flag system has been implemented, which will place participants with connections that are detrimental to others in a type of time-out until their connection quality reaches a satisfactory level.
Our vehicle engineers have completed work on updates to the GTP Class Cars and the LMP2 tires, providing substantial improvements to the changes from 2025 Season 1.
The Legends Ford ’34 Coupe has been completely overhauled from the ground up and is now rain-ready.
Our AI drivers were busy this season learning how to drive the Dallara iR-01, Portland International Raceway and additional Daytona International Speedway & Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course configurations!
