The unofficial start to the 2025 eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series season took place on Tuesday night with a crash-filled Clash at Daytona International Speedway. When the debris field cleared out of Turn 4 on the final lap, the defending series champion, William Esports’ Parker White, clad in a new number 95 Chevrolet, was the only one unscathed as he crossed the line to claim the checkers.

At the white flag, a pack of less than 10 cars entered the tri-oval, positioning their chess piece of a car in what they hoped to be the right spot the next time by. Tyler Garey, back with eRacr in 2025, led the way over Bobby Zalenski and Michael Cosey Jr, the new pairing on the newly-added ERA eSports Team. Back in seventh, White was right behind his Williams Esports teammate Donovan Strauss. By Turn 3, the nine cars left were all jumbled and fighting for the top spot.

The pack exploded, and its sole survivor was White across the line. A few moments later, it was Garey, who took the brunt of a hit from William Byron eSports’ Tucker Minter, coming home second, ahead of Zalenski limping home in third. Cosey Jr and Malik Ray (Vegas Inferno) rounded out the top-five.

“I told Don, coming to the white flag, ‘do you want to go low in (Turn) 1?’ and he was like, ‘yeah’,” White said post-race. “Then (Daniel) Faulkingham went low behind me, and I think he went a bit too early. I got hooked together, but I was going to go with Cosey on the backstretch, but then I decided to go low, I thought that would be a bit better… That whole last lap, I didn’t really know what to think, I was just going to not lift until I saw the checkered flag, so that’s what happened.”

The 20-lap feature race was set by both qualifying and a pair of heat races. Six Karma’s Eddie Kerner tied for the pole position with Spire Motorsports’ Steven Wilson, so both would lead their respective heats to the green flag. Both heats ran 10 laps each with no cautions, and wildly differed from one another.

Heat 1 was filled with crashes, splitting the pack up to only a handful by the end. On the final lap, JR Motorsports’ Briar LaPradd got a huge shove from BS+COMPETITION’s Jordy Lopez to take the lead. Lopez looked low at the line, but LaPradd was able to hang on to win the pole for the Feature. The second heat was intense but contained, as the pack was able to stick together the entire way. On the final lap, Tucker Minter got paired up with fgr Accel’s Seth DeMerchant and the two pulled away from the rest to finish 1-2.

In the feature, things got out of hand quickly. Entering Turn 1, Kanaan Esports’ Alexander Russell and 2023 series champion Steven Wilson collided, sparking a multi-car incident that took out many hopefuls almost immediately. The race resumed, and with cautions determined by a live administrator, the field began to thin as lesser incidents didn’t trigger the yellow flag.

A late caution involving 2022 series champion and new Kansas City Pioneer, Casey Kirwan, set up the remaining drivers for a five lap dash. With the next flag potentially ending the race, the decision was made to keep the race green to the end. With three laps to go, a huge wreck took out the majority of the field, leaving nine drivers left in the lead pack. They were able to keep it together until the final lap, where it all burst apart, with Parker White surviving to win.
