Outlaw Dirt Micro Sprints Headline iRacing 2024 Season 2 Patch 2 Updates
April 2nd, 2024 by Chris Leone
Today’s iRacing 2024 Season 2 Patch 2 improves upon one of the biggest builds in iRacing history by introducing two all-new cars to the sim as part of the free base package, adds rain tires to two more, and enables another car for AI. Here’s a look at the highlights:
Meet the Outlaw Dirt Micro Sprints
Dirt Oval iRacers have been loving the all-new Dirt Micro Sprint cars that debuted with the new build. Now, both the winged and wingless cars have been split into two versions apiece: an Outlaw version that keeps the original 160 HP figure, and a Stock version that lowers the power to 120 hp. The Stock versions have taken over at the Rookie level, so first-timers and those still learning dirt racing will have a more manageable driving experience.
Ford, McLaren GT3s Receive Rain Tires
The Ford GT and McLaren MP4-12C GT3s join their six active GT3 compatriots from Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes, and Porsche in having wet-weather tires enabled. These additions allow for an expanded list of series to feature rain racing in the near future.
Superstar Racing Experience Car Enabled for AI
With its throwback combination of high horsepower and low downforce, the SRX car has become a quick favorite of many Oval-focused iRacers. Now, you can take it on in single-player racing on any of iRacing’s AI-enabled tracks. Past SRX venues that are currently available for AI play on iRacing include Stafford Motor Speedway, Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, Slinger Speedway, Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, Five Flags Speedway, and South Boston Speedway.
