For Week Two of Season 4, the iRacing.com Street Stock Series made its way to Thompson International Speedway. Three time defending champion Nick Ottinger (Carolina), who has not lost a points paying Street Stock race since Week Six of Season 2, continued his dominant ways at Thompson as sim racers look to dethrone the champ.

Weekly High Strength of Field

The high Strength of Field (SoF) race for Week two took place on Sunday night and had an SoF of 3112, which payed 189 points to win. Ottinger brought home the win by over seven seconds as he brought his win streak up to 18 races. Brandon Chretien (New York) came home in the second position, after starting second, and received 170 points for his efforts. Daniel L Carter (Mid-South), the only other car to finish on the lead lap, finished in the third position. Carter finished 17 seconds behind and netted 151 points. Steve Mayes (Ohio) and Jeremy Cross (West) rounded-out the Top Five and received 132 and 113 points respectively.

The Street Stocks traveled to Thompson International Speedway for Week 2.

Weekly Standings

After dominating the SoF race, Ottinger found himself on top of the weekly points standings. Second in the weekly standings was Chretien, who finished second to Ottinger in the SoF race. Chretien ran three races, with two wins and a second and netted 165 points for the week. Carter and Trey Jarrell (Virginias) were third and fourth in the standings after both received 151 points for Week Two. Rounding out the Top Five was Greg McKinney (Carolina), who won both races he attempted and gained 137 points for the week.

Season Standings

With his second place finish in the weekly SoF race, Chretien took over the season points lead with a total of 310 points. Maxime Paquette (Eastern-Canada) maintained his position in second after winning in his only start of Week Two and netting 119 points, bringing his season total to 302. MIchael Vaughn (West) moved up two positions this week after winning one of his to starts and bringing his total to 297 points. Rounding out the Top Five after Week Two were Jarrell and McKinney with 293 and 289 points.

Two wide? Three wide? Not a problem when it comes to Street Stocks at Thompson.


Weekly Qualifying

Ottinger set the fastest qualifying time fo the week after turning a 21.658 second lap. Second for the week was James Trimble (Pennsylvania) with a 21.965. Third on the charts was Richard Dusett (New England), who turned a 21.719. McKinney finished the week in fourth with a 21.790 while Danny Hansen (Midwest) finished the week in the fifth position with a 21.790.
