Over the weekend, the Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup returned to Belgium for the third round of the 2025 season. Last contested back in 2023, the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps hosted 30 of the best sim racers for the usual Sprint and Main race dance on Saturday afternoon, with Oracle Red Bull Sim Racing scoring both Supercup victories with both of their drivers.

While Team Indian Racing Festival by APPL’s Mitchell deJong scored his first TAG Heuer Pole Award of the season, it was the first Oracle Red Bull driver, Cooper Webster, scoring the Sprint win. Following the invert, it was the other driver, the defending champion Sebastian Job, taking his second win of the season in the Main event, overtaking Apex Racing Team’s Luke McKeown early before dominating the rest of the way.

The Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup All-Stars were also in town, with Casey Kirwan once again the class of the field. Kirwan won the opening race and finished second in the second race to Stradi, who scored his first victory of the season in the All-Stars ranks.

Both grids will take a break until March 8th, when the action picks up again for the midway point on the 2025 schedule at the Sachsenring for the Mid-Season Tournament.

PESC QUALIFYING:

Up to 85 points are available every event in the Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup, with 25 points up for grabs in the Sprint race and 50 in the Feature. The other 10 can be won by winning the TAG Heuer Pole Award, with points distributed through the top-five in qualifying.

This week it was deJong scoring his first TAG Heuer Pole Award since Silverstone in the 2021 season, earning the 10 points by only 0.011 seconds. Webster wound up second, and rounding out the top-five, which were only separated by 0.026 seconds, were Tristan Iglesias (Coanda Esports), Kevin Nielsen (Coanda Esports), and Chris Lulham (Verstappen.com Racing).

2025 Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup Top 5 Qualifying results from Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps were as follows:

  1. #24 Mitchell deJong, 2:18.957 seconds (10 points)
  2. #37 Cooper Webster, -0.011 (8 points)
  3. #38 Tristan Iglesias, -0.019 (6 points)
  4. #3 Kevin Nielsen, -0.019 (4 points)
  5. #20 Chris Lulham, -0.026 (2 points)

PESC SPRINT RACE:

For the first time since the 2021 season, Mitchell deJong led the field off the starting line and into La Source for the first time. A six-lap Sprint, positions would be key early before the tires got too hot to make moves. Webster stuck behind deJong through the first lap, the two crossing the line in the order they qualified the first time by. Into La Source for the second time, Webster made his move.

With Webster and Chris Lulham (Verstappen.com Racing) on the right, deJong was on the left and outside entering the corner. Webster made it stick, and was able to hold deJong back off up the Kemmel Straight. Lulham managed to also get by, dropping deJong back to third.

The top-eight managed to pull away from the rest of the field. Webster played it perfectly, with no further action behind, allowing him to score the win.

The win marked Webster’s fourth career victory, second on the 2025 season, and first in a Sprint race setting, the other three having come in the Feature.

“It’s all about qualifying,” Webster said post-race. “I got qualifying right this week, and it put me in the right spot to get a good result.” The initial victory was enough to vault him to the top of the standings early in the day, where he would hold it through the Feature result. “(I’m) not thinking about it,” Webster responded when asked about it. “Thinking about it is not going to do anything to help me drive faster, so I’m just going to not think about it and focus on things that matter.”

In the battle for the invert, Sebastian Job managed to get seventh, passing McKeown for the spot in the middle of the race. Second spot looked to be the best place to be, as that was where Webster was able to win from.

PESC FEATURE RACE:

McKeown led the field off the line for the Feature, but almost immediately, Job was able to get around. As the field got sorted out single file up Eau Rouge and Raidillon, Job peeked to the left down the Kemmel Straight, completing the pass easily.

From there, the 12 lap Feature became a parade for the most part, with McKeown and his teammate, Yohann Harth scheming up a way to get back by the two-time champion. Job maintained the gap perfectly, never allowing for the pair to get close enough to act.

After inverting back to eighth, Webster found himself unable to get back by deJong like he was able to do in the Sprint. This prevented any further movement up the leaderboard for the Sprint winner, who eventually did get by and finish seventh.

As the laps wound down, Lulham found himself in a position to get by both the Apex Racing Team cars ahead. Into La Source for the penultimate time, Lulham pulled to the right on Harth and got to the rear bumper of McKeown, the two making contact. Everyone was able to save it, but it essentially sealed the deal for Job. Job extends his win total to 18 Feature wins and 32 overall following the Spa return.

“Qualifying was a complete disaster,” Job started off with post-race. “I knew before qualifying that the pace was extremely good. I was on a good lap, it would have been pole, but I just got loose out of Stavelot 2. I have no idea why, I never had it before. When testing, the wind—this was my favorite wind particularly for that corner, and I got loose. Just choked the lap completely. I was expecting to be a lot lower than I was, so that was a nice saving grace.”

For the race, being in the lead meant it was having 12 perfect laps to stay out front. “Race 2 was just unbelievably stressful,” Job continued. “It was basically 12 qualifying laps at absolute maximum push and maximum risk. Then, I was having to watch my fuel a little bit, because at Spa, you don’t really expect to have clean air every single lap. I was actually having to lift and coast a little bit in the second half of the race, which just added to the stress, especially with Luke slowly catching.”

PESC ALL-STARS RECAP:

The Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup All-Stars seated back up in the Porsche 963 again on Saturday for the Spa showdown. One particular driver, Casey Kirwan, excels in the GTP ranks, so once again, the racing fell right into his lap. Kirwan took the pole and did everything he could to dominate in the first race, including claiming the fastest lap time for bonus points.

With the full-field invert, Kirwan was stuck in the back for the second race. This led to the champion sustaining damages to his nose after a wreck in La Source on the opening lap. Up front, LoveFortySix led the way, but Stradi, Basic Ollie, and Pablo Vicente were all able to get around. Kirwan also made it up that far, finding his way to fourth as the race hit halfway.

Stradi managed to check out, scoring his first win as a result. Kirwan, with the damage, still scored second over Ollie. The fastest lap of the second race went to The Pulpo Lopez, who finished fifth.

2025 Porsche TAG Heuer Esports All-Stars Sprint results from Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps were as follows:

  1. Casey Kirwan
  2. PulpoLopez
  3. Pablo Vicente
  4. Quirkitized
  5. Sampsoid

2025 Porsche TAG Heuer Esports All-Stars Feature results from Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps were as follows:

Kirwan continues to lead the way in the All-Stars standings, with the battle heating up for second between Lopez and Ollie, now only separated by seven points leaving Spa. Quirkitized and Pablo Vicente round out the top-five, both tied at 70 points.

The next Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup and All-Stars event will be on March 8th with the Mid-Season Tournament at the Sachsenring. There will also be a chance for community members to participate in the All-Stars race on the same weekend. The Time Attack starts on February 22nd. More details are available here.

Coverage for the next event will kick off on Saturday, March 8th at 18:00 GMT (1PM ET) with the Porsche All-Stars up first. After the All-Stars, the Supercup begins their second round at 19:00 GMT (2PM ET).
