A proper championship battle is shaping up in the 2025 edition of the Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup following Saturday’s events at Thruxton Circuit. A new venue to the series, Thruxon provided some defining moments as Cooper Webster (Oracle Red Bull Sim Racing) and the winner of the previous round, Jordan Caruso (Team Indian Racing Festival by APPL) traded the top spot in the standings in-between the Sprint and Feature events.

From the pole position, Luke McKeown (Apex Racing Team) scored his first race win of the season in the Sprint, but it was just ahead of Caruso, who would take the points lead leaving the Sprint by a single point over Webster. Down in eighth, Webster was strategizing for the Feature, scoring the invert to the top spot, en route to leading every lap for yet another victory in the 2025 campaign.

With only two races remaining on the 2025 schedule, Webster leaves Thruxton as the points leader once more, now with a 38-point cushion over Caruso with Fuji and La Sarthe as the final two events.

PESC QUALIFYING:

Up to 85 points are available every event in the Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup, with 25 points up for grabs in the Sprint race and 50 in the Feature. The other 10 can be won by winning the TAG Heuer Pole Award, with points distributed through the top-five in qualifying.

This week, Luke McKeown took his first TAG Heuer Pole Award, becoming the fifth different driver in five races to earn that distinction. Jordan Caruso scored second, while Sam Kuitert (Team Redline), Moreno Sirica (Atlassian Williams), and Alessandro Bico (Atlassian Williams) rounded out the top-five.

2025 Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup Top 5 Qualifying results from Thruxton Circuit were as follows:

  1. #96 Luke McKeown, 1:08.473 seconds (10 points)
  2. #12 Jordan Caruso, -0.027 (8 points)
  3. #28 Sam Kuitert, -0.051 (6 points)
  4. #69 Moreno Sirica, -0.128 (4 points)
  5. #77 Alessandro Bico, -0.136 (2 points)

PESC SPRINT RACE:

With lap times near 69 seconds, Thruxton’s long straightaways and tight racing surface leads itself to race like a short track, which meant track position would be key throughout the event. In the Sprint, the top-six qualifiers all managed to finish where they started as a result, which meant that the majority of the action took place outside the top-10.

The defending series champion, Sebastian Job (Oracle Red Bull Sim Racing) had an uncharacteristic evening at Thruxton. From the 12th starting spot, Job’s goal was to at least get to eighth, to spin the invert to the pole for a shot at winning the Feature. Instead, Job wound up in the barrier on multiple occasions, the first one completely of his own doing, and wound up retiring after four laps.

With the threat from the champ eliminated, the battle then turned to seventh through ninth. Diogo Pinto (Team Redline) started seventh, but fell back to ninth, allowing both Mitchell deJong (Team Indian Racing Festival by APPL) and Cooper Webster through. Webster, in the coveted eighth position, had to work to keep the 2022 series champion at bay.

As McKeown crossed the line to take the victory, out of the final chicane, it was Webster holding off Pinto for the eighth spot and transfer to the Feature pole position.

PESC FEATURE RACE:

Once again, track position would be key in the 18-lap Feature. While tire wear was a concern, the immediate goal off the starting line was to get what you could early on.

As Webster pulled away, the two Atlassian Williams Sim Racing Porsches did not get going, boxing in Caruso before Turn 1. Sam Kuitert was able to squeeze through, which led to him finishing in fourth. After some tense three-wide action, Caruso settled back in, but now in ninth instead of the seventh position where he started.

There would be some incidents, and likely some upset drivers towards the end of the show. Job, on his climb through the field from the last row, did get into it with Julien Soenen (Coanda Esports). Moments later, Kevin Nielsen (Coanda Esports) was also sent for a loop after contact with Nicolas Mateo (DRAGO Racing).

Up front, however, it was just 18 solid qualifying laps for Webster. For the third time this season, Webster scores the victory, as he was able to hold off deJong and Tristan Iglesias for the entire 18-lap parade.

PESC ALL-STARS RECAP:

The Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup All-Stars took to Thruxton also driving the Porsche 992 Cup cars, the same ones that the Supercup uses. Once again, the Porsche Factory Drivers in the field were the show, as both Ayhancan Guven and Laurin Heinrich split Thruxton victories.

Guven, a former Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup winner, outpaced Heinrich in the qualifying session, and from there was able to hang on for the first race win of the day. After the full field invert, Heinrich was able to navigate traffic a little better, which put him in winner’s circle for the second race. Casey Kirwan, the normal dominant driver when the Factory Drivers don’t show up, finished third in both events.

2025 Porsche TAG Heuer Esports All-Stars Sprint results from Thruxton Circuit were as follows:

  1. Ayhancan Guven
  2. Laurin Heinrich
  3. Casey Kirwan
  4. Pablo Lopez
  5. Pablo Vicente

2025 Porsche TAG Heuer Esports All-Stars Feature results from Thruxton Circuit were as follows:

  1. Laurin Heinrich
  2. Ayhancan Guven
  3. Casey Kirwan
  4. Pablo Vicente
  5. Pablo Lopez

2025 Porsche TAG Heuer Esports All-Stars points through Thruxton Circuit are as follows:

  2. Pablo Lopez, 126
  3. Pablo Vicente, 113
  4. Stradi, 106
  5. Keny500, 96

Kirwan does maintain his points lead, nearly at an insurmountable gap with two events remaining in the 2025 season. Pablo “The Pulpo” Lopez sits second and newcomer to the series, Pablo Vicente, now sits third.

The next Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup and All-Stars event will be with the sixth event of the season at Fuji.

Coverage for the next event will kick off on Saturday, April 5th at 18:00 GMT (2PM ET) with the Porsche All-Stars up first. After the All-Stars, the Supercup begins their second round at 19:00 GMT (3PM ET).
