iRacing World of Outlaws Thrustmaster Sprint Car Series 2023-24 Season begins on Monday
November 10th, 2023 by Justin Melillo
On Monday, the 2023-24 iRacing World of Outlaws Thrustmaster Sprint Car Series season kicks off at Volusia Speedway Park. 35 of the top dirt sim racers will compete for a piece of the $25,000 purse, the champion destined to take home $10,000 at season’s end.
Last season, fourth year competitor Tyler Schell claimed his first career championship, outlasting three-time series champion Alex Bergeron and sophomore Timothy Smith through the season. Schell took it by only eight points over Bergeron after an incredible run in the final race of the year.
Schell, Bergeron, and Smith will return this season to run it back for a chance at this year’s title. Joining them are some familiar names to the series and other World of Outlaws esports divisions, including James Edens and JD Brown, as well as the four World of Outlaws Buttkicker Late Model Series championship competitors this season—Kendal Tucker, Logan Rumsey, Blake Matjoulis and the two-time defending Late Model champion, Evan Seay.
Drivers will take on some of the most well-known dirt tracks across the United States, including the season-opening round at Volusia, a pre-Christmas date with Knoxville, the penultimate round at Eldora, and of course, the finale at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Port Royal Speedway will also debut on this season’s schedule.
Races will feature qualifying and heat racing to determine the 20 drivers that will compete in the Feature race. There will be four heat races of 10 laps each, where the top four will advance forward through to the main event. There will also be two 12-lap consolation races where the top two finishers in each will move on. In the 35-lap feature races, caution laps do not count. This will be the first season of the series since iRacing’s Dirt Refresh that was implemented for 2023 Season 3 in June.
