The iRacing Off-Road Championship Series gets back to points racing with a return to Wild West Motorsports Park for the second time this season. Coverage kicks off at 8PM ET across iRacing social media channels with All-Star action featuring top real-world drivers and Twitch streamers, while the 24 top off-road sim racers in the world will take on this week’s showcase race at 9PM ET.

Last Week: 16 drivers took the challenge of racing the rear-wheel-drive Pro 2 truck at Crandon International Raceway’s short layout in the series’ first-ever non-points exhibition event, and the change of pace brought a pair of new winners. Josh Edmundson and defending series champion Connor Barry of Nitro Circus Sim Racing Team came out on top of the two 16-lap battles. Edmundson had to get past Virtual Drivers by TX3’s Quentin Dall’olmo for the first win, while Barry renewed his longtime rivalry with 2022 runner-up Keaton Swane of Factory Simsport to take the second.

Earlier This Season: It was a mix of returning title threats and standout rookies when the season kicked off at Wild West in June, with Swane outdueling rookie Joel Blewitt of Team Gold for the first race win and fellow rookie Jarrett Liebert of Team Rogue leading every lap of the second race to beat Barry by more than three seconds. Swane’s first and third place finishes gave him a two-point lead over Barry coming out of the event.

All-Star Series: Luke Knupp of Team Gold has the early overall points lead in the five-week Pro 4 All-Star campaign, pacing the Pro eSports drivers with finishes of first and second in the two races last week at Crandon. Nitro Circus driver Scott Kerr, one of multiple new additions to the grid, won the second race.

Track Facts: Prior to its closure, Nevada’s Wild West Motorsports Park put on some of the best short course off-road racing in the southwest. Carved into the side of a mountain, the 1.5-mile track features the biggest jump of the season just after its start-finish line. The track was also added to iRacing’s base content package for 2023 Season 1, making it free to play for all users.

Next Up: Following Wild West, the iRacing Off-Road Championship Series will roll on with a return to Bark River International Raceway on Wednesday, August 9. The opening doubleheader of the season at Wild West saw Swane and Liebert split the race wins.
