iRacing will bring an all-new road racing series concept to racers beginning with 2023 Season 3 with the Ricmotech Ring Meister Series. Featuring four-lap races on the Nurburgring Industriefahrten with unattached qualifying, the series will serve as a pilot program for a new series concept where the cars in use will change each week over the course of the season, rather than the track.
The Ricmotech Ring Meister Series will see a mix of entry and professional-level road racing cars, ranging from top-of-the-line GT3 cars to fan favorites. Two of the selected cars, the Toyota GR86 and Ray FF1600, are part of iRacing’s base package, giving all users the opportunity to compete. The 12 cars tentatively slated for the inaugural Ricmotech Ring Meister Series in 2023 Season 3 are as follows (subject to change):
- Mercedes-AMG GT3 2020
- Porsche 718 Cayman GT4
- Hyundai Elantra
- Toyota GR86
- Ferrari 488 GT3 EVO
- BMW M4 GT4
- Honda Civic
- Ray FF1600
- Porsche 911 GT3 R
- Aston Martin Vantage GT4
- Renault Clio
- BMW M4 GT3
As part of the pilot program for new concept, Ricmotech Ring Meister Series participants will need to be aware of a handful of important early considerations. For example, the last scheduled race on Mondays before the start of a new week will not actually be run; during this time, the car will be switched over to the next week’s selection. iRacers will then need to refresh their UI to see the new car display for the next week of races. Other considerations regarding this series will be noted closer to its launch in the iRacing Forums.
