iRacer Profile: Landon Sciacca

Columbus, Ohio’s Landon Sciacca is a fan short tracks, be they real or virtual. His favorite track on the iRacing service? Richmond International Raceway. His favorite “real life” tracks? Toledo Speedway,Columbus Motor Speedway and Winchester Speedway. Sciacca knows where-of he speaks in both cases, competing in the Main Event Racing Series and focusing on NASCAR iRacing.com Class B, C, Late Models and Legends in iRacing. To good effect. With 13 top fives (and six wins) in 27 starts, he’s currently second in points to Bill Wease in Class C (fixed) Division 4, and 12th in Legends Cup Division 1 with 37 top fives (and 11 wins) in 48 starts.
Q: How long have you been sim racing?
A: Five or six years now, with Dirt Track Racing 2, rFactor, Nascar Racing 2003 Season, ARCA Sim Racing, and now and only iRacing.
Q: What attracted you to iRacing?
A: The cars, the graphics, the license system.
Q: What are favorite iRacing cars/tracks?
A: Class B,Class C, Late model, and I would have to say Richmond is my favorite racetrack.
Q: What do you like most about iRacing?
A: The competitive racing.
Q: What would you change about iRacing?
A: I would probably add an Outlaw Body, Super Late Model.
Q: How many hours a week do you spend on iRacing?
A: Probably 8-10 Hours a week.
Q: Do you do any “real world’ racing? If so, do you use iRacing to practice or prepare for your real world races? If so,how?
A: Yes I do, it just helps me keep a rhythm, keep “warm” as they would say in football and basketball
Q: Tell us about the paint schemes on your helmet/car(s).
A: Well most of my cars are a JEGS.com- and Senneker Performance-sponsored cars. They sponsor my family’s real life endevours and I help them out her;, and as of late, got hooked up with Zach Hudson and Zach Hudson Motorsport.
Q: What other sim racing activities (Forza, Gran Tourismo, etc.) do you do?
A: Dirt Track Racing 2, rFactor, Nascar Racing 2003 Season, ARCA Sim Racing, and now and only iRacing.
Q: What are your favorite video games?
A: Probably the line of Call of Duty games.
Q: What is your most memorable iRacing moment?
A: Finishing Second in the Tim’s Corner.ca 150 on Live Broadcast.

Q: What is the iRacing moment you’d love to forget?
A: Leading a Top Split Class C Race, with 4 to go at Richmond, went to pass a lapped car, clipped the apron and plowed the wall!.
Q: What car/track would you like to see iRacing add to the service?
A: The Outlaw Super Late Model, and Toledo Speedway,Columbus Motor Speedway, Winchester Speedway and a few more.
Q: What person, living or dead, do you most admire? Why?
A: My cousin. (I) grew-up watching him my whole life.. He taught me everything he knows, and has made me a better racer, on and off the track.
Q: What’s your favorite real world racing series?
A: CRA Super Series, Main Event Racing Series, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series

A: Ummmmm haven’t read in a while, does Circle Track magazine count?
Q: Name of your favorite movie/TV show?
A: Days of Thunder!
Q: How many of your close friends are iRacing members?
A: Probably two or three.
Q: Has competing with iRacers all around the world influenced your opinions/outlook on life/world events? How?
A: Racing with people all over the world, really makes the distance not seem so far; to race with people who just had a big tsunami or any other event makes it feel a little closer.
