The INDYCAR ButtKicker iRacing Pro Series has only two races remaining in the inaugural 2024 season. On Thursday night, the top-33 INDYCAR competitors will return to the oval discipline for the first of two final oval races to close out the year. The first of those, the ninth and penultimate of the season, takes place at the historic one-mile oval at the Wisconsin State Fair Park, The Milwaukee Mile.

Diogo Pinto has a sizable gap on the rest of the field, 35 points over his teammate Edoardo Leo and 43 points over oval specialist Philip Kraus. If the numbers trend the same way as they did in the first three oval races, it could end up being close at the top among these three drivers by the end of next week. 12 drivers are still mathematically eligible for the title, but Pinto could also clinch the title a race early if things work out for him at Milwaukee.

As always, each race will be broadcast live at 8:00 p.m. ET on Thursday nights via iRacing social channels and the NTT INDYCAR SERIES YouTube channel and website.

Last Race:

In the road course finale for the 2024 season, Diogo Pinto reminded everyone why he’s an iRacing World Champion. The former Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup champion put on the drive of his life, coming into the race only up by three points, extending it to 35 after a dominating run at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Pinto started fourth, but was in the lead by the fourth lap, running away with it easily on the Alternate red-walled tires. With that win, he’ll have a chance to clinch the championship at Milwaukee.

Track Facts:

One of the oldest active racetracks in the world, the Milwaukee Mile hosted at least one auto race every year from its opening in 1903 until 2015, and returned to active competition in 2021 with the ARCA Menards Series. The 1.015-mile oval has just nine degrees of banking in its corners, making it one of the flattest ovals on the schedule. The track returned to INDYCAR in 2024 after last racing at the facility in 2015, the dual race wins split between Pato O’Ward and Scott McLaughlin.

About the Series:

The inaugural INDYCAR ButtKicker iRacing Pro Series season will feature a purse of $50,000 with the champion taking home $20,000 at season’s end. The 10 races scheduled include a fair mix of road courses and ovals that are often found on the real-world INDYCAR schedule. Points are scored based on a similar system that the real-world series uses, with 50 points going to the winner and bonus points for laps led, most laps led, and the pole award.

Next Up:

The season concludes next Thursday night with a 114-lap race at Nashville Superspeedway to confirm a champion. Located in Lebanon, Tennessee, the 1.33-mile concrete oval is the end race to the real-world INDYCAR schedule, a race won by Colton Herta in 2024 and the site of where Alex Palou was crowned a three-time champion a few months ago.
