FIA SIMAGIC F4 eSports Regional Tour Week 6 report: Rubilar extends lead, Ladic and Dunne take over in respective regions
July 24th, 2024 by Justin Melillo
This September, the FIA SIMAGIC F4 eSports Global Championship Series arrives with 30 of the top-ranked regional competitors going against one another for a four-event, eight round season with a chance at winning a share of the $25,000 prize pool.
All three regions have made it to the halfway point of the Regional Tour season. Last week, the Americas took on Laguna Seca, Asia Pacific battled at Sandown, and Europe took to the Sachsenring.
AMERICAS REGION
Over in the Americas Region, the same names are beginning to stand out as hopefuls for advancing to the Championship Series later this year. Felipe Cabrera Loyola is one of those names who’s been in the top-10 the entire season, and this week at Laguna Seca, was able to score the win in the top Strength of Field (SoF) race of the week, taking home 328 points over Elvis Rankin, Michael Janney, Nicolás Rubilar, and Ralph Benitez in the top-five.
Those same five names are also in the overall top-10, with Rubilar continuing to lead the way. Rubilar extends the points lead to 63 points over former leader Victor Miranda, who finished 10th this week. Paulo Draeta was the only one to fall out, now in 11th, as Rankin moves in to 10th. On the outside looking in, names like Matt Bussa, Felipe Juliato, and Andre Castro are all drivers that have flirted with the cut line all season, and could play a role in the second half of the year. 4538 iRacers took part in Laguna Seca festivities in Week 6.

EUROPE REGION
Similar to the AP Region, the Europe region had a change in guard at the top of the standings, also due to inactivity by the former leader. Gordie Mutch did not partake in any races during the Sachsenring week, and now there’s a tie in his place between Alex Dunne and Hugh Barter. Dunne finished third in the week while Barter took home seventh, and as a result, the two share the lead by 30 points over Alejandro Sánchez, who closes in once again after another victory in the weekly SoF race, scoring 359 points.
Dan Amor finished second on the week and jumps inside the overall top-10. Luke McKeown and Martin Kadlečík rounded out the Sachsenring top-five. Mutch falls to sixth, and Amor bumps in at Jacob Reid4’s dismay, who falls down to 11th. 809 iRacers took part in the sixth week of racing, but once again, Europe proved to have the highest SoF race, a field averaging a 6995 iRating on Tuesday afternoon.
