Christmas Number One
January 3rd, 2011 by DavidP
Forget X Factor’s Matt Cardle’s hit single, the real attention for this year’s UK Christmas Number One was focused on who would win the iRacing England Club championship round in Christmas week.
Would Blake Townend make it a remarkable six wins in a row or could the reigning champion Adam Miles take the top spot with last year’s runner up, Steven Jones, missing the round?
The answer would be neither of the above even getting to taste the champagne at the end of a grueling online race at Road America in the Mazda MX5s, with both leading the race for periods before falling down the order following incidents.
Up stepped radicalsonline.com driver Andy Kirschetorte (“Tasty Cakes” as he is known in England Club circles) to pick up his maiden Club England victory and take the coveted number one spot for Christmas!
Second place fell to Stephen (“Swiss cheese”) Grier just two seconds behind with Nathan Johnson just a further three seconds back in an epic battle.
A full round up of the Club England Championship with just four rounds remaining will follow shortly. In the meantime Tasty Cakes can revel in his Christmas glory!
