Side-by-side racing.

Weeks four and five of the NASCAR iRacing Class C Fixed Series brought nearly 4,700 sim racers from all around the world to the virtual circuits of Bristol Motor Speedway and Charlotte Motor Speedway. Even though the two speedways are polar opposites of each other, they each provide a very unique form of racing which many people enjoy.

Bristol

Chris J Miller (Carolina) drove his No. 5 Silverado into Bristol’s victory lane during the week’s top Strength of Field event after leading 22 of the event’s 55 laps. Steven Eszenyi (New England) finished off the event in the second position after starting from the pole and leading 33 laps. The final spot on the podium was secured by Paul Kusheba (New England) who started from the eighth position and worked his way into the top three as the checkered flag flew. The remaining positions in the top five were filled by New Jersey native Jordy Lopez Jr and Florida native Chris M Hall. The 4443 SoF was slowed five times for caution for a total of 21 laps and included just one lead change.

Charlotte

Malik Ray (Carolina) drove the famous No. 3 to victory during Week Five’s top SoF event by leading 15 of the event’s 35 laps en route to a 0.486 margin of victory over Brodie Kostecki (Carolina). Christian Pedersen (New England) started from the sixth position and quickly drove his No. 11 Silverado into the top five. The final spots in the top five were secured by Michael Guest (Indiana) and Paul Kusheba (New England). The 4990 SoF was slowed three times for caution for a total of eight laps and included seven lead changes among five drivers.

Bristol

With the victory in the week’s top SoF event, Miller netted 280 championship points as he looks to make a run at the Season Four championship. Reilly L Doyle (Carolina) capped off a successful week in the second position after scoring two victories in five starts. Jesus Andrade (Florida) ended the week in the third position, competing in four events and adding 258 to his season total. The remaining spots in the top five were held down by Brian V Macklin (Atlantic) and Steven Eszenyi, who scored 255 and 254 points, correspondingly.

Charlotte

Although he did not win the top SoF event of the week, he was able to earn the most championship points with 292 due to Ray running 31 races during the week. Second place on the week went to Sean Robbins (Carolina) who made just one start during the week and earned 281 points during the process. Jeremy R Allen (Indiana) ended the week in the third position after making five starts and earning 280 points. Nathan McGuire (Carolina) and Ray rounded-out the top five with 279 and 278 points, respectively.

Bristol

Ryan Lowe (Virginias) put his Silverado on top of the qualifying chart with a time of 15.105 seconds. The second place man is also no stranger to the top of the qualifying chart. Simon Crochart (France) ended the week with a time of 15.132. Christian Pedersen (New England) capped off the week with a top three effort in the overall qualifying standings with a time of 15.138. The final two spots in the top five were occupied by Tom Moustakas (New York) and Eric Hoggarth (Plains) with times of 15.139 and 15.143 seconds.

Intense battles at Bristol.

Charlotte

At Bristol, Crochart had to play second fiddle to Lowe when it came to qualifying, but at Charlotte, he put his name back on top of the charts with a time of 29.522 seconds. SoF winner Ray ended the week in the second position overall with a time of 29.526 seconds. The third position was filled by Eugene Mozgunov (Central-Eastern Europe) who ended the week with a time of 29.527. The remainder of the top five was filled by Kostecki and Heath Hindman (Mid-South) with times of 29.532 and 29.534 seconds.

Bristol

After four weeks of online racing, Kusheba holds a 78 point lead over second place driver McGuire heading into Week Five at Charlotte. SoF winner Miller sits 82 points behind. Justin Fuller (New York) and Kyle Crump (Michigan) fill the remaining positions in the top five and are 90 points and 105 points back, correspondingly.

Racing into Turn Three.

Charlotte

At the conclusion of Week Five, Kusheba now holds a 91 point lead over McGuire. Miller holds down the third position, but is now 115 points back after behind 82 the previous week. Crump moves up a position in the standings after spending the previous week in the fifth position, but is 139 points behind. Justin Fuller (New York) rounds out the top five as the series heads to Iowa Speedway next week.

After spending a week at the half-mile Bristol Motor Speedway and another at the 1.5-mile Charlotte Motor Speedway, the series heads to the 8/10th-mile Iowa Speedway for some good side-by-side racing at one of America’s premier racing facilities.
