2025 eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series | Preview | Race 5 at Rockingham
April 8th, 2025 by Justin Melillo
The eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series returns on Tuesday night with the fifth race of the 2025 season at Rockingham Speedway.
For the first time, Rockingham Speedway joins the schedule as a points-paying event. The opening Segment of the season is also set to conclude following the 200-lap event on Tuesday night.
Race coverage begins at 8 p.m. ET at eNASCAR.com/live and across iRacing social media channels. Tune in 30 minutes earlier to catch the Countdown to Green at 7:30 p.m. ET.
SEGMENT 1 ENDS
Once again in 2025, the schedule has been broken into three points segments which contain their own mini points championships to win. Scoring the most points in any given segment will earn a driver five playoff points and a nice payday of $3,000. The opening segment, Segment 1, started at Daytona and has traveled through Las Vegas, Interlagos, and Richmond.
Through four races, the defending series champion, Parker White, currently holds the most points out of all drivers, at 138 points despite not having a win to his name yet. Zack Novak sits second, also without a win, at 135 points. Steven Wilson, with three wins collected so far, sits third with 133 points, his only bad race coming at Las Vegas following connectivity issues. Still also mathematically eligible to win the Segment are Tucker Minter (-15), Dylan Ault (-26), Femi Olatunbosun (-34), and Vicente Salas (-36).
Segment 2 begins at Talladega Superspeedway in two weeks, and will only last for four races, through Charlotte Motor Speedway, Nashville Superspeedway, and Kansas Speedway.
LAST RACE
Heat racing returned at Richmond Raceway two weeks ago. While Jordy Lopez set the fastest lap in qualifying, after some penalties, he wound up out of contention. Zack Novak capitalized and won the opening heat race while Vicente Salas scored the win in the second Heat. In the Feature race, Novak led most of the way, but Steven Wilson eventually got there, made the pass, and held on for his third win of the season.
LAST TIME AT ROCKINGHAM
Rockingham Speedway makes its debut as a points-paying race this week, but this isn’t the first time that the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series has visited the venue. Back in 2019, Zack Novak was victorious in an All-Star race, winning in a photo finish against Michael Conti. The event was broadcasted live on NBC Sports Network as well.
TRACK FACTS
Call it Rockingham Speedway, North Carolina Motor Speedway or just “The Rock,” Rockingham is among stock car racing’s most historic race tracks. Opened in October, 1965, Rockingham hosted two NASCAR Grand National (now Sprint Cup) races annually until 2004 when it was dropped from the schedule of NASCAR’s premier series.
Opened as a flat, 1-mile oval, Rockingham underwent a major overhaul in 1969 when it was reconfigured to a D-shaped, high banked track measuring just over a mile, with an infield road course added for good measure. The track surface has proven to be particularly abrasive, adding tire conservation to the track’s already daunting challenges. Rockingham returns to the top levels of NASCAR this year as a part of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series schedule.
NEXT RACE
Following Rockingham, the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series heads to Talladega Superspeedway on April 22nd, the first race of Segment 2. Last season, Dylan Duval scored the victory under caution after a late incident froze the field during the third and final eNASCAR Overtime attempt.
