2024 Season 4 is upon us on iRacing, and with it you might have seen a slight change to the schedules: instead of 12 weeks of points-paying racing in all of your favorite series, there are 13. So what does that mean for your quest for another championship? We’ve got all the details right here:

What’s Going On?

An extra week has been added to 2024 Season 4 to adjust the timing of how each season lands within the year. This isn’t unprecedented; “leap week” has happened other times in iRacing history, most recently in 2020.

Points and Drop Weeks

As with any other iRacing season, you’ll have four drop weeks to work with over the course of your championship. This means that instead of your best eight weekly scores counting, it’ll be your best nine. Prepare accordingly!

Race Participation Credits

iRacing race participation credit awards will not be altered by the extra week of racing. However, due to the extra length of the season, users running eligible series must participate in nine weeks for this season to receive credit awards. Week 13/Week 14

Week 13 (see iRacing 101 for more information) is a week of races that mixes Official, Unofficial, new content and feature-focused, and fantasy-style series. This week of racing runs concurrently with build week, after all of the normal season championships have closed. With the extended Season 4, the actual 13th week of the season is the final week of each championship, and what is normally called Week 13 becomes Week 14. It will run from Tuesday, December 10-Monday, December 16.

2025 Season 1 Build

iRacing’s 2025 Season 1 build will be deployed the week of Monday, December 9. 2025 Season 1 will return to the normal 13-week format.
